Tours
STA5 escorted tours are limited by SFWMD to 60 participants. Hendry-Glades Audubon will lead the next escorted tour to Stormwater Treatment Area 5 (STA-5) south of Clewiston on Saturday August 21, 2010 Tours are open to anyone, but participants must register to reserve a space on the trips. Contact Margaret England, at sta5birding@embarqmail.com with your name and contact information including an emergency cell number for the tour day, the date you want to go, and the number in your party. You may also leave a message at (863) 674-0695 or (863) 517-0202. Ride sharing is encouraged in order to limit the number of cars driving on the STA5 levee during tours. Please bring completed release form with you to tour. A suggested donation of $1 per person helps defray HGAS expenses to provide this program. Bring water, snacks, and lunch. Walkie-Talkies are suggested. STA5 is 20 miles from the nearest gas station.
